Standard 1: Physical education teacher candidates know and
apply discipline-specific scientific and theoretical concepts critical to the
development of physically educated individuals.
- Analyze
and correct critical elements of motor skills and performance concepts
Date: Fall 2015
Reflection: In the Fall of 2015 I used a TGMD (test of gross
motor development) on a class to test their present level of performance in
locomotor skills (run, gallop, hop, vertical jump) and object control skills (catching,
kicking, rolling underhand, throwing) the TGMD is a norm reference test that is
critical to the measurement and development of physically educated youth. This test
shows the usage of standard one because the TGMD test is a discipline specific
skill of individuals in two areas of motor development. This artifact is
important to me becoming a teacher because it allows me to test the present
level of performance and allows me to know how much students are retaining from
my teachings and give feedback(areas of strengths
and areas of improvement)
